Pricing and Policies
Does getting a quote cost me anything?
No! They are 100% free. We will only ask for payment information once you are ready to purchase a policy.
How accurate are your quotes?
Very accurate! In most cases the original quote is the premium you end up paying. This is because we are getting rates directly from our carrier partners, and not using third party quote estimators.
Does your quote include the filing fee for an SR22?
Young Alfred quotes exclude SR22 filing fees, though the filing generally costs $20-$25. You can get a final rate with all fees included from our licensed insurance representatives.
Do you charge a broker fee?
Does getting a quote affect my credit score (FICO score)?
No. In most cases, carriers will access your credit score to make a quote, though they do this using a “soft inquiry”. This does not have an impact on your credit or FICO score because you are not applying for financing.
What type of discounts are available?
This depends on carrier, but our carriers offer some or all of the following discounts: multi-policy, multi-car, multi-driver, new car, mature driver, safe driver, higher education, distant student, driver improvement certificate, homeowners, continuously insured, paperless, military, special occupational discounts, driver training, good student, usage based pricing, e-sign, and many others.
Do I get discounts for buying more than one policy from Young Alfred?
In most cases, yes you will receive a discount if you purchase two or more policies from the same carrier. Note that sometimes the combined costs of getting an auto policy from one carrier and a homeowners policy from another carrier may be cheaper than purchasing both from the same carrier. Young Alfred will help you find the best package option.
Does Young Alfred service the policy as well?
This depends on carrier, though you can expect the Young Alfred butlers to always be there to address your needs or concerns.
About Young Alfred
Is Young Alfred an insurance provider?
No, Young Alfred is an independent insurance agency. We shop with several high quality insurance carriers. Our insurance partners must maintain strong A.M. Best ratings, which is the leading full-service credit rating agency for the insurance industry. This ensures our customers get quality care long after they decide to purchase their policy through Young Alfred.
How is Young Alfred different from other online insurance comparison sites?
First and foremost Young Alfred cares about you. Young Alfred has suffered through the worst experiences of loss in the insurance industry and knows what happens when people buy coverage that is not right for them. When you are protecting your family and your wealth, we believe you should have better information. So we built Young Alfred in a way unlike anything currently in existence. We present you will all the information you need to know to make an educated decision. We have direct relationships with our insurance providers so that we can give rates that you can purchase rather than just a “quote and a phone call”. Most other comparison sites provide rates that are not real-time or accurate, and make money by selling your information. They aren’t authorized to sell policies, so they just pass you off to someone else, increasing hassle for you.
We also offer two features that are brand new to the industry and proprietary to Young Alfred:
- Alfred's Mind: based on the information you tell us, we are analyzing over 1.0 billion data points to identify the risk levels of certain events, such as Flood, Earthquake, Hurricane, Theft, Mold, Tornado, Wind, Hail, Rain, Snow, Fire and Freezing to help you make educated policy decisions. Further, by providing us a more detailed profile of your assets and activities, we identify areas where you should consider modifying your coverage.
- For instance, if you own a $5,000 home entertainment system, we let you know that your regular homeowners policy will only cover a $2,500 loss on electronics, so you may want to expand your coverage. Or if you live in a High Risk Flood zone, you should purchase Flood insurance as flood damage is not covered in standard home policies.
- Scenario Analysis: there is a lot of “fine print” in insurance policies, and it’s really confusing! Our scenario analysis tool will help you understand your purchase and see how you might be reimbursed in case of certain incidents. Another big difference, is will the insurance company reimburse you in a loss scenario at the cost to replace your damaged items for their new or used value? This tool gives you more confidence in your purchase, and ensures that when you file a claim, you know what you will be getting.
How does Young Alfred make money?
Young Alfred primarily makes money by receiving a commission from the insurance carrier that you purchase a policy from. Young Alfred is very committed to providing you the best service and making sure we find a policy that gives you the best protection for your insurance budget.
What lines of insurance do you offer?
We offer most all personal P&C lines of insurance, including Auto Insurance, Homeowners Insurance, Condo Insurance, Mobile Home Insurance, Renters Insurance, Umbrella Insurance, Flood Insurance, Earthquake Insurance, Motorcycle Insurance, RV Insurance, Landlord’s Insurance, and Personal Articles Policies.
Do you offer insurance in my state?
